Lurgy prone castle poser

Leap year! I remember what I was up to on the last couple, but this one is quite quiet, plan on heading to pub and the Ship up the road for a special meal, not been in there for ages so hopefully will be good.

Month started up in Pitlochry, staying in the Hydro, same place as last year, again it was good and was in the pool/whirlpool and sauna every morning, anxious to get in first in a very autistic manner.

Had a nice walk to Killiekrankie, other than a visitor's centre telling of the battle fought there 300 years ago, there is nothing there other than a couple of houses. Got bus back as was knackered, not getting younger for sure.

While there we also visited the Blair Atholl distillery, had a private tour of the place with our guide Jane, was good. Bought a bottle of their malt whisky, and, needless to say, it was finished within a few short days.

Carried on with my walking adventures when home, have discovered a new route from Auchtertool into Kirkcaldy and it was fine, it passed by the ruins of Balwearie Castle that I don't remember seeing before, even though I went to the high school named after it for many years. My other wanderings (plus a couple of 3k runs) were on the familar routes, though I didn't do as much as I wanted as was struck down with the lurgy for about 10 days, even had to get doctor appointment as my lungs were affected. Am better now, but I seem to be getting ill quite often, anyone with cold/flu that comes near me and I'm sure to get it.

Last week I went through to Edinburgh to meet Regina, a former colleague I had not seen since 2006, she hadn't changed a bit, speaks with an American accent now though. We met in the Bow Bar near the grassmarket, and before long there were about 10 people at our tables, was a great night and I was sensible enough to head to the train while I could still walk!

Was also at the new dentist in Inverkeithing, the Kinghorn one has unfortunately closed. Had a filling replaced, the newest one I had done in Kinghorn, however it wasn't done well and needed redone. I have been there on a couple of occassions, afterward I walk back to Aberdour and then train from there, all helps with the steps target that I met yesterday.

Here a few photos taken this month..two castles behind me, one more famous than the other.
